Capricorn Coast dune and foreshore plants             Hibbertia scandens snake vine, climbing guinea flower, golden guinea vine This species climbs or sprawls to a length of 2 to 5 metres It has yellow flowers that are about 6 cm across and occur throughout the year. South-eastern New South Wales upwards to north-east Queensland. This species is commonly cultivated, and adapts to a wide range of growing conditions. This plant is growing among the dunes behind Lammermoor Beach.                                                     Clerodendrum floribundum lolly bush A small shrub to less than 3m which seems to flourish behind the primary dune where there is little competition from taller plants, a striking feature is the very high degree of insect parasitism that grossly deforms the flowers as in the bottom photo.
